One of the styles we’ve seen trending these days is the grunge style. Everywhere you look you’re bound to see a few grunge outfits popping up.
This style started getting more attention because of Gen Z, they’ve been consistent with posting content about it on all social media platforms, and we all know how influential those are. As it started getting more and more attention, this style was soon adopted even by older generations.
To best describe the grunge fashion, I would definitely say it’s heavily influenced by the ’90s, but it’s a bit darker and edgier. When you think about the most typical 90’s fashion the first colors that may come to your mind are brown and yellow, while grunge fashion revolves more around black and silver.
HOW TO PUT TOGETHER GRUNGE OUTFITS
At its core, grunge fashion is all about a disdain of conformity. That’s why this is usually such a messy, eclectic style. Some of the most popular trademarks of grunge style:
- Flannel or plaid anything (oversized is good)
- Oversized vintage band tees
- Combat boots
- Heavy, aggressive jewelry
- Converse sneakers
- Jean or leather jackets, oversized
- Fishnet or lace patterned tights
- Messy hair
- Chunky belts
- Lots and lots of makeup
- Tight clothing mixed with super oversized pieces
- Brown, black, white, and red fashion pieces
When it comes to grunge, more is more. Go for extra accessories, more makeup, and multiple layers of clothing.
